You need both: Awareful on your iPhone, and Awareful Desk on your Mac. This is the Mac one. Awareful for iPhone isn't on the App Store yet; testers install it from their TestFlight invitation.

Copy this link and open it on your Mac.

After you install

Follow “Three steps for day one” in Desk.

The first time you open Awareful Desk, it opens Overview in Settings, with these three steps. Each one turns done by itself.

  1. Add your phone

    Click Add Phone. Desk shows a code. Scan it with your iPhone camera or Awareful.

    Both screens show the same 4 digits. If they match, click It's Mine. If not, click Not Mine.

    To add a phone later: right-click the menu-bar icon, choose Settings…, and in Overview click Add Phone, or Add Another once you have one. With a Desk window in front, you can also choose Add Phone… in the File menu (⌘N).

  2. Connect agents

    After pairing, click Continue: Connect Agents, or open Connect Agents in Settings (⌘,).

    Claude Code, Codex and Cursor each have a switch. Before anything is written, Desk shows you each file and what goes in it. Nothing is written until you click Connect.

    After connecting Codex, type /hooks in Codex and trust Awareful's hook. After connecting Cursor, new chats pick it up; for chats already open, reload awareful on the MCP page of Cursor's settings, or restart Cursor. Your agent can do this part too; see “Let your agent set it up” below.

  3. What to sync

    Choose how many days of sessions to sync. There's a default; change it if you like.

    Click Start Syncing. Session content is end-to-end encrypted.

It follows AGENTS.md: it checks this Mac, downloads and verifies Awareful Desk, installs it, then connects each agent you have. Before each change it shows you the plan and waits for your yes. It never approves anything on your behalf.

Adding your phone is still yours to do, on the phone.

Awareful Desk and its DMG are signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Check the DMG's checksum:

After installing, check the signature. You should see accepted, source=Notarized Developer ID, and origin=Developer ID Application: … ending in (PFYT4RQFC6):

If anything doesn't match, or macOS says it can't verify the developer, don't open it. Write to support@awareful.com.

Awareful Desk runs only on Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and needs macOS 14 or later. It doesn't run on Macs with an Intel chip.

Desk updates itself. It checks at launch and every 6 hours after, verifies the signature and notarization, and replaces the app while Desk is idle. To check now, choose Check for Updates… in the Awareful Desk menu.
